Blood Glucose Level

Diabetes is a very common but treatable disease and is estimated to be under diagnosed in Ireland to the extent of 200,000 people nationwide. It is characterized by the bodies’ inability to metabolize (break down) sugar when eaten in a variety of foods. Therefore, there is an excess of sugar in the blood, because the body doesn’t have adequate insulin to break it down, resulting in numerous problems…

By checking the level of sugar in your blood with a simple pinprick, we can determine accurately whether you have or may possibly develop diabetes. Results only take a couple of minutes to complete. Again, appropriate action will be carried out by the staff to the best of your interests.

Blood Pressure & Heart Rate
High blood pressure is referred to as hypertension. Hypertension is usually found incidentally by healthcare professionals during a routine checkup. The only test for hypertension is a blood pressure measurement. Hypertension in isolation usually produces no symptoms but is also a key indicator. We conduct three measurements and take an average reading.

Cost & Duration:
The health check takes about 10 minutes to complete and costs €20. Additional dietary and vitamin advice is provided by our pharmacy staff following completion of the health check.
